Mike Sheradin Northwest Totem Cellar

Mike’s Wine Bar and Cafe

Mike Sheradin Northwest Totem CellarMike’s Wine Bar and Café opens in early June, on 2nd Street across from the Court House, offering a savory and sweet menu of lite bits and bites paired with Washington Beer and Wines. The all vegan tapas style menu will include Panini sandwiches, appetizers, root vegetable chips and dips, breads, cheeses and charcuterie platters, salads and sweets. The menu incorporates bold spices and tastes to create food with a depth of flavor that will stand up to even the most chewy Washington red wines. Mike is working with the chefs at Coho Restaurant using innovative new products and interesting combinations of familiar, locally produced ingredients to create a delightful culinary experience. Even the most diehard carnivore will not miss a thing. Many of the menu items will be gluten free as well.

The wine bar will have wines by the glass and flights, and guests will also be able to taste through a featured winemaker’s line. There will be beers on tap from Island Hopping Brewery on Orcas Island. The retail shop will allow patrons to purchase their favorite bottle to enjoy for dinner that evening. The wine bar will be open between 11 and 8 and is perfect for a lite lunch or a pre- or post-dinner nosh. For those that don’t partake, Mike will have some interesting Mocktails made with Kari’s Island Elixirs and Shrubs. There will also be a smoothie of the day.

Mike Sharadin is the owner/winemaker of Northwest Totem Cellars. He released his first vintage in 2007. He specializes in producing food- friendly, full bodied red wines and on some years a late harvest Viognier. He has also made a patio sipping wine, Salish, a blend of Riesling and Viognier. Coho has always had a least two of Mike’s wine on our list and he also created our second house wine, Mona Vino. Mike has been coming to the Islands for the past 25 years and has been scheming on how to make San Juan Island home. Over the next 18 months, Mike will transfer his wine making operations to Friday Harbor.

Welcome Mike, it is good to have a friend become a neighbor!
