Sunday, March 10, 2019 – The Lowly Vegetable: Creative Ways to Use the Local Bounty
Book NowChef Tim will share tips on preparing vegetables even kids would love. The class will cover cooking techniques using a vegetables natural sugars and starches to yield dishes that are savory, sweet, spicy and full of flavor. You’ll learn to make vegetable cakes and sauces and to use the brix scale to judge produce quality. Before you know it, you’ll cook up delicious vegetable sides dishes that will be the center of your plate and anything but garden-variety.
Sunday, April 7. 2019 – Fresh Seafood Basics
Book NowChef Ryan will lead you through an afternoon of everything seafood. Learn about buying, storing, cleaning, fileting and cooking fin and shellfish and which fish to substitute in a recipe. You’ll pan sear fish, make fish cakes and learn about debearding and cooking mussels and other crustaceans. You’ll go home with a fish-buying pocket guide detailing the current “best choices” for sustainable fish purchasing.
Sunday, May 5, 2019 – Where’s the Beef? Plant-based Vegan Basics
Book NowChef Jessica will share tips to prepare satiating, filling and healthy dishes using all natural plant-based ingredients. Make meatballs and chili, even the staunchest omnivore would enjoy to creamy delicate desserts without eggs or cream. Learn how to layer ingredients and flavors to maximize texture and taste. You will leave with a starter kit of recipes to start you on your way to a new healthier lifestyle.
