Coho Coffee Blend Now Available

There's nothing like a good cup of flavorful hot coffee!
In the process of selecting our Coho Coffee Blend, we had a wonderfully educational discussion with Steve Herring, our local roaster at San Juan Coffee Roasting Company.  He quizzed us on our style and flavor preferences, and came up with several different blends for us to try.  Breakfast Chef John made the final choice of a custom blend that has two very distinctive coffees.  The foundation, or low tone of the blend, is a co-op produced, aged “Sumatra Mandheling” from the northern coffee-growing region of Sumatra in Indonesia.  Aging the coffee in its green – or unroasted – state increases the body and depth of flavor.  This coffee exhibits deep molasses, bittersweet chocolate, and aged tobacco notes, with a typical thick, heavy body, that the best Sumatran coffees present. Building on this heavy foundation is another fine coffee from a different Indonesian Island, Papua New Guinea from the Mile High Plantation.  This particular coffee offers a brighter, sweet, fruity aroma and taste.  It has a rich smooth-textured mouth feel, with fig and caramel overtones.  Combined, these two coffees make a beautiful marriage! These two wonderful coffees are roasted to a true Vienna Roast – a light dark roast that still enables the coffee to show off its origin and quality.  If you're not visiting us soon, you can order it from our on-line gift shop.  Happy Sipping!
